Child-safety checks differ by jurisdiction

Australia does not use one national working-with-children credential. The relevant check depends on the state or territory in which the tutor works. Examples include a Working with Children Check, Queensland Blue Card, Northern Territory Ochre Card and other jurisdictional screening schemes. The check name, verification process and renewal requirements are set by the responsible authority.

Teacher registration is a separate professional credential

Qualified classroom teachers are registered by the relevant authority, including VIT in Victoria, NESA in New South Wales, QCT in Queensland, TRBWA in Western Australia and TRB SA in South Australia.
